Today, we will be highlighting one of Fitbit’s best-released products in the market, the Fitbit Sense. Our Fitbit Sense review aims to take a closer look at whether this is the smartwatch for you.
In these times, looking out for our health is more important than ever. Ever since the pandemic started, a lot has changed in our lifestyles. We had to adjust from working in an office to working from home. Quarantines were placed in order to protect ourselves from a deadly virus.
But if you’re someone who was never much concerned about your health beforehand, perhaps it is time to start now. A great way to do this is through the use of smartwatches or fitness and health trackers.
These wearables are a helpful option for people who want to receive gentle nudges or notification alerts when it’s time to stay active as well as updates and analytics regarding their health from the comfort of their wrists.
That’s exactly what Fitbit is going for when they released the Fitbit Sense. So without further ado, let’s dive into the review.
Right off the bat, I think the Fitbit Sense is a really ambitious smartwatch that is built upon the success of its predecessors such as the Fitbit Versa line.
However, the Sense is more of an attempt to be a balance of both a smartwatch and a fitness tracker with a few yet significant upgrades on features that focus on one’s mental health and wellbeing.
Equipped with impressive features such as a more advanced sleep tracker, overnight measurements of your SpO2 levels, a stress monitoring sensor to help you manage your stress levels, an FDA-approved ECG, and so much more, this wearable aims to help you improve and monitor your overall wellbeing.
With such mindful tools packed in one device, you’ll be able to understand more about your physical and mental health so you can make small changes over time to live a more fulfilling and healthy lifestyle.
Personally, I really appreciate that a company like Fitbit is now placing importance on taking care of a person’s mental health. While more can be done than just monitoring and managing someone’s stress levels, this is a good way to start and I only hope that more companies follow the same route and continue improving upon this.
As we keep living in a time of a pandemic, some people’s lives can be more stressful than ever. So having a wearable handy that will detect any potential problems like an incoming panic attack due to overwhelming stress might be pretty helpful for your day-to-day life.
Not to mention, the FDA-approved ECG or electrocardiogram sensor built into this smartwatch can also detect any irregularities in your heartbeat or signs of atrial fibrillation, while the highly advanced sleep-tracking features provide more in-depth and detailed analytics regarding your sleeping patterns and overall sleep quality.

What We Love About The Fitbit Sense
From the wide array of health monitoring features to the fitness tracking abilities we all come to know and love from Fitbit, here are some of the things we really liked about the Fitbit Sense.
Stress Monitoring & Management
The Fitbit Sense is packed with a lot of amazing health and fitness tracking features, but what really shines and stands out from the rest is its stress monitoring.
This is made possible by its built-in EDA sensor. Essentially, this particular sensor will provide you with measurements of your stress levels through the form of electrodermal activity (EDA) responses, which is detected through the conductivity of your skin. This means that the Sense retrieves this certain data from your sweat.
However, it is important to keep in mind that emotional factors aren’t the only thing that will make you sweat. Physical activities, as well as heat, can also have an effect on your EDA responses.
In order to scan your stress levels, all you need to do is place your free hand over the stainless steel rim on the top of the watch for two minutes. Make sure it is placed securely around your wrist and after that, you will feel a gentle vibration.
Finally, the EDA sensor will measure any possible stress markers triggered by your sweat. If you get fewer EDA responses, that probably means you’re not as stressed at that moment.
Moreover, you can also get a stress management score from Fitbit so you’ll have an idea of how your body reacts and responds to stress based on factors like your heart rate, activity data, and sleeping patterns and habits. Additionally, the app will also provide you with stress management suggestions that can be helpful for you.
Advanced Sleep Tracking Features
Another noteworthy feature of the Fitbit Sense is its impressive sleep tracking features. If you find yourself having trouble sleeping and would like to have an idea why or how to improve your situation, then you will love how detailed the analytics this wearable will provide you.
In addition to extremely detailed information regarding your score on your sleep quality, the Fitbit Sense will also determine and measure your skin temperature overnight as well as your oxygen saturation levels.
I only wish that the two latter features could be done at any given time instead of only being viable at night when you go to bed.
Fitness Tracking
As you can see, Fitbit is really working hard to bridge the gap between fitness and wellness here. This is something quite apparent with most smartwatches nowadays but when it comes to fitness tracking, Fitbit easily is one of the best in the market. So no disappointments here!
The Fitbit Sense offers the same fitness tracking features that we are already well familiar with plus the addition of a new feature called Active Zone Minutes. Furthermore, the integrated GPS also helps a lot in making sure that your stats are done with better accuracy.
Design & Build
When it comes to design and build, Fitbit has really outdone themselves with the Fitbit Sense. Overall, it’s a very good-looking smartwatch. One that rivals the Apple Series Watch. It has a sturdy build with a very appealing design.
You can also have the bands changed if you want other colors and the display is much brighter and clear even under harsh lighting such as direct sunlight. Plus, it’s a very comfortable watch to wear even after long periods of time.
No product is perfect. Though, still a pretty impressive and reliable smartwatch, here are a few things we don’t love as much from the Fitbit Sense.
Some apps require Fitbit Premium
As much as I love the impressive health monitoring features on the Fitbit Sense, it’s important to take note that some of these features do require you to subscribe to Fitbit Premium in order to maximize its full potential.
The only upside is that upon purchase, you get a 6-month free trial of the Fitbit Premium app so you can see for yourself if it’s worth the upgrade.
In A Nutshell
Not that we have broken down what we loved and disliked about the Fitbit Sense, here’s a narrowed down list of the good and the bad with this smartwatch.
Pros

By clicking on this article, I’m pretty sure you’re someone looking for a buyer’s guide to the best smartwatches this 2021. Well, you did the right thing as I’m here to help you out.
As technology in this day and age continues to thrive and advance, so do our ways of living. From smartphones to smart homes, and now to smartwatches. Of course, as our demand for such devices rises, so does the supply. With the endless number of brands to choose from, I understand it can be pretty overwhelming.
So to help you where to start, to figure out the good from the bad, and to know the things you should consider, here’s a handy buyer’s guide to the best smartwatches for you this 2021. All you have to do is keep on reading. And by the end of this article, you’ll surely know what you want in a smartwatch.
First off, you might ask questions such as what exactly is a smartwatch? What makes it smart? And how does it differ from your standard or traditional wristwatch? So let’s answer that.
I’m pretty sure by now everyone owns a smartphone and knows what it is. It’s a multi-functioning device that can serve as a mini-computer in the palm of your hands. A smartwatch serves the same purpose apart from keeping time. But tinier and has the convenience of being wrapped around your wrist instead of holding it.
How many situations can you count wherein you couldn’t have access to your phone to check missed or incoming calls, text messages, or other notifications and needed something more discreet and hands-free? A smartwatch can provide exactly that.
Essentially, a smartwatch is a multitasking wearable you can use to complement your smartphone actually. Especially in cases where your smartphone is out of reach. A smartwatch will send you notifications your phone received, even incoming calls, text messages, or social media updates in the comfort of your wrists.
For most people, especially fellow fitness and health enthusiasts, a great smartwatch is one that can provide and double as a health tracker. Most smartwatches already have this function. Though you’ll find some are a lot better than others.
It really comes down to your preference what you would like your smartwatch to do for you at the end of the day. But keep in mind even the most high-tech devices have their limitations. So I’ve listed below what you need to consider before you go out and buy a wearable for yourself.
Things to consider
Fitness & Health Tracking
One of the main reasons smartwatches are so in demand right now is its ability to double as a health and fitness tracker effectively. It’s also one of the many reasons why you see a lot of fitness enthusiasts sporting a smartwatch these days.
If you’re a fellow fitness enthusiast, try to look for a smartwatch with a built-in GPS, a pedometer to measure your steps, an accelerometer to measure intensity, a heart rate monitor, a sleep tracker, and other health tracking sensors or technology.
With features like this, you’ll be able to monitor steps, your speed, distance, heart rate, calories burned, and so much more.
Some more sophisticated and high-end smartwatch brands would even provide you with a personal running or training coach to encourage you throughout your exercises. Some might give a more in-depth display or analysis of every workout session.
Dedicated fitness brands like Fitbit and Garmin are very well known for making the best smartwatches that have built-in health trackers. So if you like to stay in shape and keep track of your form, your runs, and workout sessions, these brands might be something you’re interested in.
There are three operating systems that are dominating the market of smartwatches right now. These are the Apple Watch OS, Samsung’s Tizen, and Google Wear OS.
All three of these have their own advantages and disadvantages. Though admittedly, Apple Watch OS is superior compared to everything else. This is mostly due to the fact that the Apple Watch OS gives you access to Apple’s App Store which provides you with the largest library of app selections.
Samsung’s Tizen comes in a close second. Especially with the added benefit of the fan-favorite rotating bezel. Making navigation through their smartwatches a breeze.
Google Wear OS seems to lag behind at third. The interface and overall user experience are not as satisfying in comparison to the first two operating systems. It’s slower and needs a serious upgrade with a lot of its features in order to catch up with the other two.
Don’t get me wrong, both operating systems are still pretty solid, just not up to par with Apple’s.
A lot of smartwatches in the market work as an accessory to your smartphone. This means they sometimes need to rely on Bluetooth connectivity or a Wi-Fi network to stay synced with your phone in order for you to get your notifications.
But some more high-end devices allow you the option of having a smartwatch with its own cellular data connections. Of course, these wearables come at a more premium price.
Personally, I do find a wearable having its own cellular data very much worth it. With that kind of feature, I don’t have to worry about always pairing up my devices to make sure I get the same alerts in my smartwatch as my smartphone.
Battery
Your smartwatch’s battery life is one of the important things to consider before buying one.
Especially if you’re someone who spends their time mostly outside of their home. Of course, you can always bring the charger around but I prefer not having to add an additional weight to my bag.
For people who solely use their smartwatches to keep track of their activities and exercises, a wearable that lasts around 18 hours to 24 hours should be more than enough. A single charge might even last you a week!
Some devices also offer wearables that can last for several days with a single charge. I find this optimum for people who work long shifts at work. With that kind of battery life, you won’t have to worry about taking your smartwatch off to let it charge or dying on you in the middle of the day.
There are also wearables that offer wireless charging as well as the ability to charge it with your phone. How cool is that, right? With so many smartwatches in the market, anything is possible.
One thing I have to remind you though, not a lot of smartwatches have replaceable batteries. Making their wearables somewhat disposable once the batteries are no longer working. So if smartwatches with replaceable batteries are something important to you, steer clear of irreplaceable batteries.
Design & Display
When it comes to design and display of the best smartwatches this 2021, the world is your oyster. Or so does the saying goes.
Interchangeable Straps
Jokes aside, one of the best things about a smartwatch is having the ability to fully customize it according to your taste and preference. For some people, it’s not a big deal, but for people like me, I genuinely love having this feature.
Most of the best smartwatches this 2021 allow you to have interchangeable bands or straps which is a great thing. It’s better to have that kind of option rather than not having it at all, right? There are so many things you can do with interchangeable straps, you can mix and match depending on your mood or outfit of the day!
Keep in mind, these kinds of straps are sold separately.
Size
When figuring out what size to get with your smartwatch, pick one that will sit comfortably around your wrist. Usually, a 41mm wearable is enough for the average-sized person. But there are definitely bigger ones to accommodate our taller friends.
Display
As for display, a lot of smartwatches in the market gives us the option to customize what we want to be displayed in our wearable’s screens. This is pretty useful for anyone who might want quick access to certain apps, data, or notifications that might pop up every now and then.
Some smartwatches can also either have AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) or OLED (organic light-emitting diode) screens. These kinds of displays work without the use of a backlight and individually illuminate every pixel, providing a brighter display.
The difference between the two is that OLED screens can have single, multi or full color displays, while AMOLED always displays a full-color screen.
Other Features You Might Want
Messaging and calling.
Smartwatches who let you write texts and make calls are always a great bonus to have. This definitely allows a more convenient and subtle way of replying to people without the distraction of a phone.
ECGs.
More premium wearables have FDA-cleared ECGs. Which means you get a sensor that helps you keep track of your heart health from your wrist.
This kind of technology can even be used to identify atrial fibrillation or Afib, a serious medical condition that is a leading cause of stroke. So if you are constantly worried about your heart health, try giving wearables with FDA-cleared ECGs a consideration.
It seems like the pandemic is not going anywhere anytime soon despite millions of people already getting vaccinated. So having a built-in pulse oximeter with your smartwatch is always a nice thing to have to keep track of your blood oxygen levels.
Having this option available definitely beats putting the effort of going to the hospital to get it checked.
Music playback.
Another nice feature you might like from your smartwatch is music playback.
Music is definitely something important to me and a part of my daily life. So if you’re someone similar, you might want to look into wearables that offer this feature.
Conclusion
All in all, smartwatch technology is still fairly new and there’s still a lot more we can uncover. But if there’s anything we can predict, it’s the fact that it will continue to be improved by manufacturers. It will eventually evolve into more high-tech wearables with better features and functions.
So that’s something to keep in mind before you commit to one particular smartwatch. Remember, these devices aren’t cheap! In the meantime, decide what kind of features and functions are necessary to your lifestyle right now then pick the best smartwatch for you off of those factors.
In any case, I hope I was able to help you learn more about these wearables in my buyer’s guide to the best smartwatches this 2021.

The Apple Watch Series has always been on top of its game among the plethora of smartwatches in the market. At this point, Apple can’t really do no wrong with their Apple Watch Series. They’ve proven it time and time again with each and every release of their wearables that the only way to go is up.
But in this review, I’ll be tackling the latest model in Apple’s smartwatch line, the Apple Watch Series 6.
With rumors and news of probable leaks of the upcoming Series 7 in the possible future, we’re here to find out if the Series 6 is still the solid and right choice for fitness enthusiasts and Apple fans alike while we patiently await the next model’s release.
Since the Apple Watch Series 6’s release, it has been raved about and claimed as the best smartwatch you can get on the market by trusted tech websites, casual consumers, and enthusiasts alike. It easily garnered several positive reviews with very few nitpicks here and there.
Despite its premium price, people found the wearable worth every single penny. After all, won’t you be willing to sacrifice a few things too if that guarantees you getting the best thing in the market?
It was only last year, 2020 when Apple released their latest iteration from their smartwatch line, the Series 6.
Though it had only been a year apart since the Apple Series 5 was dropped in the market, Apple had no problem beating its own record with the Series 6. Making the wearable an instant favorite among enthusiasts and fans.
In some ways, the Apple Series 5 and 6 are not much different. Especially at first glance. Just look at how identical they are in the image above. If you’re someone who’s not familiar with Apple products, it will surely take some time to find the difference between the two.
But don’t be fooled! Upon further inspection, there are actually very notable differences between these two devices. With the Apple Series 6, there are upgrades in regard to health-related features and a faster chip to deliver a strong performance on such a tiny device.
If you’re curious, check out Apple’s introduction to the Apple Series 6!
Now let’s take a closer look of the features below.
Features & Specifications of The Apple Watch Series 6
Body
Dimensions: 44 x 38 x 10.4 mm (1.73 x 1.50 x 0.41 in)
Now that we’ve covered the features and specifications of the Series 6, let’s move on to the things I personally love about this device. Hopefully, this also helps you make a wise purchasing decision when it comes to the Series 6.
Blood Oxygen Reader
Since the original release of the Apple Watch Series way back in 2015, Apple has come a long way with improvements and upgrades with their line of smartwatches.
One of the most exciting new features the Apple Series 6 has to offer is the newly equipped sensor that enables the measurement of oxygen saturation in your blood, also known as SpO2.
But how is this relevant to you and to today’s times you ask?
As we continue to live in an age of COVID-19, it is important for us to keep track and monitor closely how well is our circulatory and respiratory systems deliver oxygenated blood to our bodies.
While a blood oxygen reading alone doesn’t diagnose or certify we have the virus, it certainly helps to know that a reading below 90 percent may warrant you a trip to the emergency room. Not only this indicates signs of a more serious illness but with this technology, further complications can be avoided easily.
So how was Apple able to pull this off and how does it work? By using a technology that is similar to a pulse oximeter. To those unaware, a pulse oximeter is a noninvasive and painless device that doctors use to measure your oxygen saturation level, or the oxygen levels in your blood.
This sensor works in two ways:
You can measure the blood manually by resting your arm on a horizontal surface for 15 seconds while it takes a reading. Do make sure that the smartwatch is fit correctly around your wrist while this happens.
The second way is it can measure your blood oxygen levels in the background while you go about your day.
While Apple has been generally responsible with their claims and features, there is one thing to take note of. Every once in a while, it’s possible you might get inconsistent blood oxygen readings.
So don’t panic right away if it shows you a negative result. Quite often, this happens when the smartwatch is not placed or fitted correctly around your wrist.
If your device is put on correctly, and it consistently shows a negative result, then a trip to the emergency room would be wise to make sure you are alright.
Health Features, App Selection, and Upgraded System
The system
With the implementation of WatchOS 7 matched with the new dual-core S6 System and 32GB of RAM, you’re rest assured that the performance of the Series 6 is as solid as it can get.
Compared to the S5 chip located in the previous model, the Series 6 easily delivers a 20 percent faster performance too. Additionally, the S6 system has also improved screen brightness with a level of 1,000 nits, a new antenna to support 5GHz Wi-Fi, faster charging, and up to 18 hours or more of battery life depending on your usage.
On top of that, with the WatchOS 7, you also get several useful features to help with your daily activities. This includes a 20-second timer for handwashing, new workout types to add to your routine, sleep monitoring, new watch faces, and so much more.
If you have a family, you will certainly love the Family Setup the WatchOS 7 has. You can use these feature to control and manage who your child communicates with, locate their whereabouts with the Find People app, and a lot more.
Health features
Just like its predecessor, the Series 6 was able to retain the impressive health features equipped into the latest model. I found this really useful now that work from home is being implemented and prioritized and I don’t get as much exercise compared to when I commuted daily.
Such health and safety features include:
ECG Readings
Menstrual cycle tracking
Sleep tracking
Heart rate monitoring and notifications
Fall detections and alerts
High decibel alerts
Activity rings that track and monitors your exercises and movements
Emergency SOS
Apps
Moving on to the apps, I can without a doubt say that Apple’s App Store is unparalleled.
It’s one of the Series 6’s biggest strengths and what sets it apart from its competition by a mile. With 20,000 Apple Watch apps available in their App Store, it puts any Apple Watch Series model ahead of other wearables due to having the largest third party-app selection.
The Colors & Overall Design
I think by now you know that I’m a huge sucker for aesthetics and having the ability to customize my gadgets and devices.
With the Apple Series 6, I can easily do those things.
One of the best parts of owning an Apple Watch Series is the fun of picking a different watch face for your wearable for each day.
By doing so, I have the freedom to customize my wearable depending on what I’m prioritizing that day, what I’m wearing, my favorite things, and/or simply what I need.
In addition to customizing your Apple Series’ watch face, you can also swap the bands to your liking. Fortunately, Apple has a wide array of designs and colors to choose from so you’re sure to find something that will fit your taste perfectly.
Do note that the interchangeable bands are sold separately from the unit.
My Least Favorite Thing About The Apple Watch Series 6
I have to admit, it was pretty difficult trying to find flaws on the Series 6. It’s nearly perfect. Everything you need in a smartwatch is here. So here is one thing I dislike about this particular wearable.
The Price
Like all Apple products, the Apple Watch Series 6 is a high-end, premium device. Unfortunately, that also means the model comes with a premium price tag as well.
While some might say that the price justifies the value of the Series 6, I have to disagree.
You can easily get the same (or even better) health features other smartwatches have equipped in their models. Some are even more consistent or advanced when tracking your health. There are also other smartwatches with the same customization features that you can get for a fraction of the price.
While I find the Series 6 is still an overall superior product, it definitely burns a hole through your wallet.
Pros & Cons
To sum it all up, here’s a narrowed down list of the good and the bad with the Apple Watch Series 6.
Pros
Equipped with the largest third-party app selection with Apple’s App Store.
Fairly consistent readings with the blood oxygen level sensor.
Solid and faster performance along with an impressive ecosystem with the WatchOS 7 and S6 chip.
Bright display.
A wide array of interchangeable/customizable bands to choose from.
Cons
Expensive.
Doesn’t support Android devices.
Mediocre battery life.
Final Verdict
In this current era of a pandemic, it’s important more than ever the significance of keeping ourselves healthy.
Owning a smartwatch is one of the most convenient ways to do that. And the Apple Watch Series 6 delivers the best overall performance a smartwatch can do. It has everything you need such as health monitoring, blood oxygen readings, an impressive ecosystem, plus the largest app selection you can find in the market.
Despite being released last year, you won’t have to worry about upgrading to the next model right away as the Series 6 is still a pretty solid product ahead of every other competing device in its range.
While I understand it comes with a hefty price tag, it’s really up to you if you think such device is worth every penny

Finding the best smartwatch for nurses this 2021 is one of the best ways to make your job easier and more convenient as a healthcare worker.
While 2021 continues to go through a pandemic, being a nurse can be one of the most demanding and difficult jobs to have. This not only applies to nurses but to other health workers and front-liners who risk their lives just to continue providing us with their services. A huge salute to them!
As a nurse, you are met with a multitude of responsibilities. Those responsibilities include gathering data from your patients, checking up on them regularly and doing the appropriate actions needed by the patient, overseeing patients’ records, relaying information to your doctors, and so much more.
With so many things at hand, you as a nurse are required to multitask. Time management, adapting to your fast-paced environment, and being quick on your feet are skills you need to learn. Because of this, I understand it’s easy to get overwhelmed and sometimes, even overlook some things.
This is where smartwatches come in.
It’s been said that technology makes our life easier. And a smartwatch does exactly that. The best wristwatch for nurses should be able to help keep track of your schedules. It should also manage your messages and calls, and send you notifications to keep you in the loop whenever necessary.
With the right smartwatch on your wrist, you’ll have a great advantage and better management with your tasks at hand.
To help nurses find the best smartwatch this 2021, I came up with my top recommendations for this list.
Top Recommendations

If you truly want the best of the best, I would highly suggest setting your eyes on the Apple Series 6.
Now if you’re not an Apple user, you might want to take a look at the Fitbit Versa 2.
Fitbit is no stranger when it comes to smartwatches. In fact, they’re one of the most popular manufacturers of smartwatches across the globe. And rightfully so, they deserved the second-best spot in our list of The Best Smartwatch For Nurses 2021.
The Fitbit Versa 2 is one of the best smartwatches in the market that proves you don’t need a lot of high tech or premium features to make a great and solid smartwatch. In addition, this model won’t certainly burn a hole through your wallet.
So if you’re in a budget but want something that will help make your shifts at work easier and more manageable, the Fitbit Versa 2 is one of the best choices out there.
Even with the release of the Fitbit Versa 3, the Versa 2 is still a solid product to consider. The only advantage of the former is its built-in GPS. So if that’s a big deal to you, you can instead check out the Fitbit Versa 3.
However, with the Versa 2, you still get a lot of impressive features which are all listed below.

Another smartwatch that will fit any android user perfectly is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3.
Like the first two brands mentioned here, Samsung is also one of the top leading brands to produce premium smart gadgets in the market. And the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is no exception to that.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 packs a punch with an array of premium features a smartwatch can have. From Bluetooth connectivity and LTE capabilities, the fan-favorite rotating bezel, built-in fitness trackers, automatic sleep trackers, a stylish and versatile design that’s water-resistant, to so much more.

If you want to know more of its features in full detail, just keep on reading.
Another well-known brand that produces wristwatches is Fossil.
Because of Fossil’s trusted reputation as watchmakers, I can easily assure you that the Fossil Gen 5 is one of the best smartwatches you can buy in the market right now.
Like many smartwatches, the Fossil Gen 5 also runs Google’s Wear OS.
If you’re a smartwatch enthusiast or just simply familiar with different kinds of smartwatches, you’ll know that this particular software has had issues of sluggishness, poor battery life, and being behind compared to some of its competitors like the Apple Watch Series.
However, it seems like the Fossil Gen 5 was able to curb all the issues plaguing Google’s Wear OS to the side. While it’s still not yet on par with the Apple Watch Series, Fossil Gen 5’s performance is still pretty solid on its own.
You’ll find no noticeable dips or lags in its speed while being used thanks to its 1GB of RAM and the updated Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor.
Battery life has also been greatly improved, lasting you more than a day in a single charge even with the “Daily” mode activated. Daily mode activates all functions in your smartwatch while “Extended” battery mode turns off a few features. When extended battery mode is on, you can expect your smartwatch to last you more than two days.
Just with the improved battery life alone, the Fossil Gen 5 is able to take a big leap and separate itself from other competitors that support Google’s Wear OS as well, making it a standout product.
Another noteworthy feature of the Fossil Gen 5 is how the model looks like your standard beautiful wristwatch. Which is something Fossil does so well with all of their wristwatches.
It doesn’t look like a piece of technology which is something I’m a huge fan of. Aside from having a wide array of interchangeable straps to choose from, of course.

Where Can I Buy The Amazfit GTS Fitness Smartwatch?
Another underrated find in our list is the TicWatch Pro.
The TicWatch Pro stands out in the market because of its dual screen technology and innovative design that combines the things you would love in a traditional wristwatch while enjoying the benefits of a high quality smartwatch.
While TicWatch isn’t as popular of a brand compared to its counterparts in the market, it certainly doesn’t lag behind with their products. With a mid-range price, you get to experience top-end specs and features that Google’s Wear OS support.
When it comes to design, the TicWatch Pro looks very masculine and it might not be everyone’s taste. But where it shines is the material used to make this durable model. This device has US Military Standard 810G certified durability along with a lightweight silicone strap.
So if you like a wearable that doesn’t break easy and don’t mind the standard design, the TicWatch Pro is a solid choice.
If you can’t get enough if Garmin products, here’s another model that you might like.
The Garmin Vivomove HR is a hybrid smartwatch that perfectly balances the benefits and functionalities of a smartwatch and a fitness tracker.
This device is perfect for nurses who like to keep up with an active lifestyle alongside their careers while also incorporating the subtle design of a standard analog watch.
While it’s not quite on par with the Vivoactive 3 and doesn’t support as many apps, it’s still a standout compared to other hybrid watches in competition.
With a little hidden LED screen, the Vivomove HR lets you read your notifications, check and track your exercises or daily activities, and stress levels.
When it comes to design, Garmin certainly did not cut any corners by giving us a wide range of colors and styles to choose from. At first glance, the Garmin Vivomove HR does really look like your basic analog watch. Which is great because that was the point for a hybrid smartwatch.
Aside from that, you have the option to customize your Vivomove HR’s straps according to your preference. Or if you want an altogether classier-looking wristwatch, you can also upgrade it to a more premium model of the Vivomove HR.
Do take note that the Garmin Vivomove HR has no buttons nor crown. You can only interact with it through the touchscreen display. So if that’s something that might bother you, this is something to keep in mind.

Before you make that final decision on what smartwatch to get, I’ve also come up with a quick buyer’s guide to help you out on a few significant things you should consider in a smartwatch.
1. Make sure it syncs and works with your smartphone.
When purchasing a smartwatch, you have to keep in mind that you’re buying this device so you don’t have to rely on pulling out your smartphone as much while having accessibility to important apps from your wrist.
So make sure you get a model that is compatible and syncs with your smartphone conveniently. So considering things like operating systems and its versions are crucial in knowing which device will be compatible with the phone you’re using. Otherwise, you’d be stuck with a wearable that won’t have much use.
2. Built-in fitness tracker.
As someone who takes care of sickly people on a daily bases as their career, your health should be just as a priority. So a smartwatch with a reliable fitness tracker and health monitoring capabilities can be a huge advantage.
This will be able to help you stay in shape by tracking your steps and your activities, monitor your sleep during your downtimes, provide data regarding your heart rate, and so much more.
3. Supported apps.
When it comes to supported apps, this will heavily rely on your preferences. Do you want a wearable that can play and control your music without pulling out your phone? Do you want to have contactless payments? Also, some apps only support iOS or Android while others support both operating systems.
By finding out which apps you want and need, you’ll be able to figure out which smartwatch device will work best for you.
4. Does it send notifications and allows you to reply to texts and make/answer calls?
Another thing to consider for your convenience is a wearable’s ability to allow you to reply to texts, answer and make calls from your wrist. Usually, when you’re a nurse, your hands are almost always full and don’t have the luxury to peek through your phone to check messages or calls or other notifications you may have.
So a smartwatch letting you manage those kinds of things will significantly improve your productivity by just moving your wrist.
5. Battery life.
Work shifts for a nurse can get really long. And when I say long, it can last up to 16-24 hours during extreme cases. So it’s important to have a reliable smartwatch that won’t die on you in the middle of your shift.
So make sure that the smartwatch you’re getting can keep up with your long shifts at work.
6. Design and Build.
A lot of smartwatches in the market sport interchangeable bands of multiple colorways to let you switch up the design and style of your smartwatch according to your mood and preferences. While it’s not the most important feature to look for, it’s better to have this kind of option than not having it at all.
Besides, who doesn’t want their smartwatches to match their outfits for the day?
Aside from aesthetics, it’s also important to know the build of your smartwatch. Is it sturdy enough? Is it lightweight? Does it feel heavy? What is the material made of? Will it be water resistant? How many meters can it be submerged into water? These kinds of questions should have answers according to your preference.
As a nurse, it’s a great advantage and security to have when you know your smartwatch can last a day of long shifts at work without you having to worry about it breaking instantly when accidents happen.
Every nurse in the world deserves to have options on how they can make their work and responsibilities easier on them. Owning the right smartwatch allows them exactly that.
With the right smartwatch, a nurse can easily track their own health and activity while they monitor their patient’s. A smartwatch can also help monitor your sleep schedule, heart rate, and send you notifications of incoming calls and messages and allow you to reply to them without having to pick up your phone.
Working in healthcare, especially in our current global situation, is one of the most demanding and stressful environments right now. As technology advances each time, things get a lot more convenient for us and nurses should also be able to have that luxury.
They sacrifice and risk so much to take care of our health and a smartwatch will help them monitor their own as well as manage their seemingly endless responsibilities and tasks.
So if you’re a nurse, I hope this list was able to help you decide on getting the best smartwatch for you.
Feel free to comment down below if you already own a smartwatch, deciding to get one, or if your favorite smartwatch has made it in our list!
